RIVIERA ICE CHALET INSTRUCTORS

All our coaches are Associate Members of the Ice Skating Institute of Asia (ISIAsia) and are trained to coach and judge the ISI testing program. They are encouraged to attend regular ISI coaching seminars and to judge at local and international figure skating competitions. ISIAsia is an independent body established to promote recreational ice skating in Asia, by contract with the world governing body, the Ice Skating Institute (ISI) based in Dallas, Texas, USA. Their ice skater test program is used worldwide, has accepted standards, and has been developed for those who skate for recreation and enjoyment. It provides achievable objectives, with immediate results!

關本地及國際花式溜冰比賽，並提供作為裁判之訓練課程。「ISI Asia」是
個獨立機構，主要為開發及推廣亞洲區之溜冰運動及活動，並為國際認可之個體, 其總部則位於美國德撤斯洲的特拉斯。世界各地之溜冰場所均採用該
協會之課程作為考試之標準，該課程能提供可達到之目標及迅速的成果。

Coaching Levels:
Beginner – Tot 1 – Tot 4, Pre-Alpha – Delta , Freestyle 1 & 2,s
Intermediate – Freestyle 3-6
Advanced – Freestyle 7 & above.

	Raul Gomes – Raul learned to skate in Dubai, where he was assistant manager at the Galleria Ice Theatre at the Hyatt Regency Dubai. He came to Hong Kong to organize the first Skate Asia in 1989 as the manager of the rink at Lai Chi Kok, and has been the manager of Riviera Ice Chalet since its opening in 1990. As head coach he has trained most of our high level skaters, specializing in jump and spin technique, and has traveled with students to the ISU Asian championships. He is currently the President of the Ice Skating Institute of Asia, and attends many ISI competitions as an International Referee and judge. Along with Linda Huggins he is the judge for all high level ISI tests in Asia. Language: English

	Linda Dean Huggins – Senior Coach NSA inter - gold medalist Linda was British Novice Champion and trained and competed in England before touring for 8 years as a solo and pair skater with Holiday on Ice and other international ice shows. She qualified as an instructor with the British Ice Teachers Association and has been coaching figure skating in Hong Kong since 1988. She is the international judge for high level tests and competitions in Asia, and a regular speaker at ISI coaching seminars. Linda specializes in choreography and has produced many shows at Riviera, and solo and group programs for ISU and ISI competitions. Language: English

	Jimmy Li: -Beginner and Intermediate levels Coach Jimmy has competed at freestyle, pairs and with Production Routines, and has been a regular performer in our Christmas Ice shows and with the Hong Kong Ice Theatre. He has passed freestyle 5, and specializes in pair skating and is a keen jump technician. He enjoys sharing his knowledge with other skaters . Languages: Cantonese, English

	Samantha Ho – Beginner and Intermediate levels Coach FS 5 Samantha has been competing and skating at Riviera since she was 12. She is a natural performer, and has enjoyed being a regular skater and assistant producer in our annual Christmas shows. Her lively personality is always a great encouragement to her students, with whom she has often traveled to competition. Samantha is a bronze level judge. Languages: Cantonese, English, French



	Johnson Cheung – Beginner and Intermediate levels Coach FS 5 Johnson has been coaching at Riviera for 17 years and has been a regular performer in many of our Christmas Shows. His lessons reflect his experience and genuine interest in the sport, and his artistic skills make him very popular with the children.

	Joe Wong - Beginner and Intermediate levels Coach FS 7 Though still an athletic young skater himself, who is training hard to complete his freestyle 8 test, Joe has had many years experience of ISI tests and competitions. He has been teaching at Riviera for the last 6 months and shows enthusiasm and patience when sharing his knowledge of ice skating with his students. Language: Cantonese

	Maddy Mak – Beginner and Intermediate levels Coach FS 5 Maddy trained at Riviera and competed at Freestyle 5. She has been a coaching here for 3 years and has a very caring and patient approach to her teaching. Languages: Cantonese

	Carmen Lo –Beginner and Intermediate Level Coach FS 4 Carmen has been a keen student at Riviera since 1995. She has taken regular lessons in many different aspects of figure skating including figures and footwork, and has recently passed figure 2 and dance 4 and her enthusiasm for the sport and joy of working with children comes across in her teaching. Carmen is a professional music teacher and runs her own music school. Languages: - Cantonese, English, Mandarin

	RAINBOW, WONG WING PO – Beginner and Intermediate levels Rainbow has been skating for 8 years and passed freestyle level 5. She has taught art and music and enjoys working with children. Rainbow has an energetic out-going personality. She took part in many athletics, dance and musical activities whilst studying at the Chinese university of Hong Kong and shares her interest in Ice Skating with similar enthusiasm. . 	Witman Chan - Beginner and Intermediate levels Coach FS 5 Witman has been skating for over 20 years and has been a coach here since the rink opened in 1991. He competed in freestyle and ice dance and still enjoys his ice skating. His experience and patience make him a very thorough coach. Languages: Cantonese, English.



	Choi Ka Wai, Norris – Beginner and Intermediate levels We are pleased to welcome Norris as a new member of our coaching team. Norris is from Australia , where he trained and skated at National and International Competition level. He was Australian Junior Synchronised, and Australian Primary Pairs Champion in 2004, and in 2006, he joined the German Senior Synchronised Skating team and took part in many ISU Senior Synchro Division competitions, including the World Synchronised Skating Championships in Prague . Norris has performed in many ice shows over the years and is qualified as a level 1 instructor with the Australian Sport Commission. Norris believes that a strong skater must have solid basics and good edge control, and is keen to share his training experience and skating expertise with the Hong Kong skaters. 	Sabina: -Beginner and Intermediate levels Coach FS 4 Sabina has been skating at Riviera since she was 10, and has been working and coaching here for many years. Her pleasant personality, patience and experience come across in her teaching. Languages: Cantonese, English

	Tiffany Wong – Beginner and Intermediate levels Coach FS 5 Tiffany has been a competitive skater for a number of years and has participated in several local and international competitions. She had won several gold medals at the competing at Skate Asia 2006 in Shenzhen, China. She is very patient with beginner level groups and is very popular with her students. She is a bronze and silver level ISI judge. Language: Cantonese

	Kevin Yung: -Beginner and Intermediate levels Coach Kevin has trained and competed at Riviera and has recently passed his freestyle 5 and couple 3 tests. He is personal trainer by profession, and this experience comes across in his attentive and thorough coaching style. He has been involved in ice skating for a number of years . 	Olivia Pang :-Beginner and Intermediate levels Coach Olivia is a freestyle level 7 competive skater and has been a student of our skating school for more than 8 years, and is still training hard to pass her freestyle 8 test. She enjoys choreography and has proved to be an inspiring and encouraging coach, who enjoys working with children. Languages: Cantonese, English

	Yanky Law: -Beginner and Intermediate levels Coach Yanky has been coaching at Riviera for 2 years. He trains regularly and is working hard towards his freestyle 5 test. His enthusiasm for ice skating comes across in his friendly , fun approach to his teaching Languages: Cantonese, English
